Our History
|
Central Oregon
Truck, began in 1986 as a small Logistics firm,
offering freight to other small trucking companies and services to shippers.
We purchased our first truck in 1992,
from this point we began to aggressively build our own fleet in an effort to offer
additionally superior service to our main shippers, with more control over performance
of the truck.In 1999, our efforts
were further consolidated by purchasing the company from the original founder and
adding trucks from individual owners who held key positions within the company but
owned their own equipment.This increased
our size by 25% and helped offer better volumes to our shippers on a more consistent
basis.Since that point we have worked
hard to continue to grow.Our shareholders
currently have day to day duties and responsibilities within various parts of operations.
Each Shareholder was a former truck
driver, which means we understand all the various challenges that plague our drivers
and our industry.Today we offer a
variety of services to our employees and our customers, each of which will be briefly
outlined.

Our Facilities
|
Our main office is located in Prineville Oregon All administrative services are active at this location as well as all Sales, Planning, Dispatch, and IS department.
Our Maintenance Center, Human Resource Department, Recruiting, Safety and Training Departments are all located at our Terrebonne, Oregon facilities.
We have a Satellite Dispatch and Logistics office located in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

Our Equipment

Central Oregon Truck Company has over 150 company owned power units, we also have over 50 independent owner operators that run on an exclusive basis for us daily. Our power units are Kenworth and Peterbilt class 8 tractors only, with no tractor being older than 4 years new, our drivers are in the best equipment manufactured. Each power unit has full sleepers with many amenities. We own over 185 trailers, of which 25 are curtain or roll top trailers with new models coming in monthly.We have 45’, 48’ flats and 53’ vans available as well. Each trailer is equipped with full lumber tarpaulins, short tarpaulins, chains and binders, v-boards, corner protectors, ladders, spare tire, snow chains, and utility boxes.When combined with any of our power units we are capable of hauling net payloads from 48,000 lbs to 50,000 lbs.We also have approximately 30 sets of “Maxi Trailers”, these are a combination of a 40’ trailer pulling a 24’ pup trailer.These units are capable of hauling up to 65,000 lbs of payload in states that allow this configuration. If it can go on a Flatbed we have the resources to haul it!
